How would J. Colangelo handle Stoudemire?
Suns fans: If Jerry Colangelo still owned the Suns, how would he react to Amare Stoudemire's weaknesses? Would he tolerate Stoudemire's mediocre-at-best defense, thinking his offensive prowess excused it, or give up and trade him? I find it hard to say, because on one hand, Jerry Colangelo was tougher than Steve Kerr or Robert Sarver in these situations (he dumped Cedric Ceballos for probably similar reasons, and responded to Robert Horry's insubordination (throwing a towel in Coach Ainge's face) by immediately trading him. But those two weren't superstars, and on the other hand, Colangelo tolerated Charles Barkley's laziness regarding conditioning. (As you may recall, Barkley weighed a lot for his 6-4 1/2' frame, and his idea of a workout was to sit in the whirlpool.)
