Where Is The Best place in japan for me?

ok well my parents had promised me, for my 16th birthday that they would take me to japan for maybe a month. And we are deffinatley going to Tokyo, but i was wondering what the best place to stay in tokyo would be? i was thinking Minato-Ku. Im Thinking of visiting the Pokemon Center (im a nerd =]) and possiblly looking for a good arcade around there. Im also going to start studying the language and i was wondering if there was a different dialect between say, tokyo and osaka, at least thats what i heard. ive been reasearching tons about tokyo but i was going to ask this question so i culd reasearch about where im staying. also do they have hotels in tokyo that you could stay in for a month? or would i have to rent an appartment.? would my cell phone and macbook laptop computer work in tokyo?
