How do people who accept evolution respond to the *new* criticisms not involved in my last question?

I did not see the previous questions, but the criticism of lack of fossils is hardly new. There has been many findings since Darwin, and we have quite an extensive fossil record. But evolution isn't proven on the fossil record alone, that's a gross oversimplification of the theory and a caricature of how science works. DNA is the best evidence for evolution, and regarding the platypus. Little was known in the 19th century, today we have a great understanding of its evolution.
